Local girls ages 11-18 attended a week long science, technology, engineering and math day camp at Camp Wi-Wo-Ca in Wildwood Canyon July 14-18.
The camp was sponsored by the Girl Scouts of San Gorgonio to encourage teen girls to pursue education in STEM related fields. Students did not have to be girl scouts to attend.
Camper Makenna Ternes, who will attend Mesa View Middle School in the fall worked carefully on a mini security system she was building in the clubhouse.
“I love building stuff and finding out how science fits into it,” she said. “I’m excited to be in the STEM program at Mesa View.”
