Dear San Gorgonio family,
It is with a heavy heart that we reach out to you, our GSSGC family, to share this tragic news. Dave Breunig aka Rocket–a beloved father, brother, uncle, husband, and friend — our CEO and President Cynthia’s other half, passed away peacefully in his sleep on June 9, 2014. To say that the world has lost a bright light does not begin to scratch the surface.
As you can imagine, Cynthia has taken time to grieve. For the coming weeks all GSSGC employees will stand as a unified entity. We now turn to each of you to walk this path with us and insure that your regions are well tended, and that each volunteer and family is cared for.
In Cynthia’s absence we want to assure you, our Regional Leaders and families, that while the staff is still trying to deal with the sad news of David’s passing, the services provided to our 11,000 girls and 5,000 adult members has not ceased or been compromised. We are all rallying together and supporting one another more than ever.

Cynthia has expressed a desire to have a Girl Scout presence at the service. If you would like to attend Dave’s service, we ask that you come in full Girl Scout attire. This mission meant a great deal to Dave. Our girls loved him; you should have seem him in action at this last Saturday’s CEO Board Brunch! He was the star of the show for the girls. They asked him wonderful questions about being a 40-year business owner. He was absolutely beaming as he interacted with them. What a gift it was to have those moments with him.
Here is more information about Dave’s services:
The funeral will take place at 10am, this Saturday, 6/14 (viewing at 9am):
