With great pleasure we announce that David Maxfield has joined the Fund Development and External Relations Department as Signature Event Planner and Fundraising Specialist.  In his new job, he will report to Jua-Nita Houston, Director of Marketing, External Relations and Diversity.

As the impresario behind the past two Believe in Girls Expos, and the Gold and Silver and Volunteer Recognitions events, David has created beautiful and memorable moments for the Girl Scouts and volunteers.  His attention to detail and eye for exquisite, creative decorative touches raise our Council’s events from ordinary to extraordinary.

David Maxfield: Signature Event Planner and Fundraising Specialist

David was born and raised in Maryland.  He relocated to California in 2005 to attend the University of Redlands, where he graduated in 2009 with a Bachelor of Arts in English with an emphasis in Creative Writing and a Minor in Psychology. He is a member of Alpha Gamma Nu Fraternity and a cofounder of the Alpha Phi Omega National Service Fraternity, Redlands Chapter.

David has two younger brothers, ages 15 and 18, who still reside on the East Coast.  His four-legged pal, 6-year-old Sobe, is often close by his side.

David joined GSSGC in 2010 as a temp in the Registrar Department and quickly came to love the work of the Council and our mission. He moved to the Program Department in 2011 and has been reaching out to girls, adult volunteers and staff members, providing them with activities, experiences and opportunities that make their lives richer.
