For the past 8 years troops 414 and 103 have celebrated Juliette Gordon Low’s birthday by giving a basket filled with baby girl items to the first baby girl born in our area (Low Desert) at Kennedy Hospital.
The girls collect items ranging from rattles and diapers, soft toys and cute booties, and dresses to bonnets for the special baby girl. One time the girls were allowed to hold the baby!

The idea came from a Girl Scout in South Carolina, where one of the girls from Troop 103 moved to with her family. She wrote to Mike Wells, the leader of Troop 103 and co-leader of Troop 414, and shared what her new troop did to honor Juliette. Girl Scout troops 103 and 414 decided it was a great idea!
The girls delivered the basket to the first baby girl born at JFK Hospital on Thursday October 31, 2013.
